Introduction

                                                         Susan, Our Mom, Lorri

We are two sisters who are very new to blogging... learning as we go. Once we get the hang of this blogging thing, we will be adding more yummy recipes, some 'not-so-yummy' recipes (that need a little doctoring) and some useful tips that we learned along the way.
We started this blog in the hopes of helping anyone, living away from Mom/Dad for the first time, by posting basic cooking skills, easy recipes, and some tips to make living away from home a little bit easier.
At some point I will be sneaking in my passion for crocheting and crafts and it's hard to tell what that Sister of mine will be posting, but I'm sure it will be something helpful and more than likely, something to put a smile on your face.
We will not be a blog where we post every day, at least not until we get the hang of this. But for now, check back on fridays to see what we had cooking up during the week.

* Alot of our recipes, patterns, tips, ect.... will be things that have been handed down through our family and friends, or learned through trial and error. Any posts that we found through other sources will have a link leading back to the original source, giving them credit. If we happen to miss giving you credit, or if you see something on our blog that you believe you have rites to, please e-mail us and we will make sure to give credit where credit is due.

From both of us... A warm Welcome to HomeAwayFromMom and a Big Thank you for stopping by.

  1. Here's a tip that I use. It may seem a bit annal, but as I pull clothing out of the dryer and before they go into the closet, I put black items on black cloths hangers - never any other color hanger. If the item is a dark color like navy or charcoal or dark brown or something like that, it goes on any other color hanger except black. That way it's easy to tell when you're half asleep in the morning that you're not mixing navy and black or some other combination of dark colors by mistake. (I'm one of Susan's co-workers.)

  2. One more comment from one of Susan's co-workers. After entering my comments and clicking the Publish button, an error message came up indicating that I should select a profile. However, the font was red colored, which does not have a very strong contrast to the pinkish color background used on this page. It was difficult to see and read, and from an accessibility standpoint (if there was any doubt about who made the comments, Susan is now SURE who made it) this error message, if possible, should be presented in a color that would create a stronger contrast. Just my 2 cent's worth. Otherwise, I love the look of the page. Great job.

    1. Thank You (Sue's Co-Worker). I'm not sure what happened that you got an Error message, or why it is red. I'm still learning. I hope changing the page to blue helps. and that is a great idea you have, using black hangers with black clothes. You gave me something else to think about, leaving a 'tip' comment...I might need to start a Tip page where all Tip comments can be easily seen by all. Need to figure out How to do it first. lol

  3. I would like to make an "Anonymous" comment about the girls in the picture but my name keeps showing up. I have tried to sign out numerous times but it always seems to know who I am.

P.S. This is a test. You may delete this comment.
